MM: NAFA Open house 2012

This afternoon i made my way to Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) for their open

house. Tried to rush there in time after school.. But could only arrive early enough for

all the exhibitions except the Fashion studies section.. (SO TEMPTED TO GO TMR

AGAIN JUST SO I CAN SEE IT HAHAHA)

First headed to the orange house by NAFA Campus 1 to start the 'tour'.

When we were there, got greeted by the school leaders and volunteers for the open house.

There were like 'tour guides' around that you could ask to bring you around all the

NAFA Campuses! Which i thought was really good for an open house esp NAFA!

Because nafa is so 'far spread'! NAFA is humongous incase if you didn't know.

With 3 Campuses all along Bencoolen street!

They were selling really cute apparels...

Milk shakes!! * v *...

and many many more!

Two students came up to ask if i wanted to take an outfit photo for teenage magazine...

So obviously i said yes right? wahahhahah

There were many school students that came in school uniform too!!

Heading to Campus 1... I swear, it looks like an entire shopping mall!

Plus the place didn't feel like i was in singapore. I felt like i was in some movie!

The facilities were great and all the artsy fartsy stuff were getting in my head...

I felt like i was part of those pottery drama shows... HAHA

I stood by the door to take this photo and ran back to the lift... Hahaha

Sheena and freda kept calling for me cause i couldn't keep still!

So creative right (left) the way they painted the door!! And the sculpture (right)

reminded me of Pablo Picasso's sculptures! FAMOUS ARTIST IN THE MAKING~~

These photos attracted me instantly.. I find them really intriguing..

I'd love to do a version of that some day.

In to the fine arts room~~ The entire place smelled damn good (to an art kind of person).

Smelt like art and paint and paint and more paint!

So there's like those kind of podium thing where a model goes up and gets painted right?

Sheena just had to make me do this... Ok fine, i was rather willing..

The entire atmosphere just made me really jumpy and chirpy!!

And then that resorted to this picture....

HAHAHAHHAHAHH

Then freda pointed out that i looked like the drawing on the whiteboard...

so i JUST had to!!!! ><

One of my fave paintings that i saw at NAFA. It was perfection..

Something i'd love to paint. The students are crazy creative and they have so much talent!

The paintings were AMAZING!

In the 'art teaching class'! I heard that the students get paid WHILE studying,

to teach art classes! When i heard it, i was so tempted to join NAFA immd...

What a privilege!

On to... Jewelry design! They brought us around to see the jewelry the students

have made and also the workshop to see how the pieces were made from scratch!

This was my ultimate favorite... If you know me personally, you'd know that i like

the ocean and sea and water and mermaids and fishes and all the aqua marine

kind of thing.. So this collection definitely took my breath away! I loved it!!!

This candy one was freda's favorite! It was so cute and pink and adorable..

Sheena said it was very Victoria Secret-ish!

Crowns that sheena demands me to make for her... I love them both! Very alice in the wonderland-ish!!

Another marine life jewelry... The students are geniuses i swear!!

Into the workshop...

Someone was there to actually teach us about how the entire process goes about...

After walking through the two exhibitions, we headed over to Seminar room

in campus 1 for some course counseling by lectures!

Creative light designs on my way out...

The trip was amazing and i had such a fun time, i cannot lie! The people were

friendly and the facilities were really good.. Workshops all felt like another

world when we stepped in them! Really didn't feel like it was a school anymore.. Very cool~

Plus when you go, you get a NAFA Tote bag with some goodies~~

See... As i poured everything out this crazy girl literally dived and tossed

and turned in everything!!

This book was what i was anticipating to read the whole time... the courses they offer,

the cut-off points and everything i needed to know about NAFA..

They also have a book where they have all the NEWS and articles from newspapers

collaged into one magazine for you to see how successful the students are!

I have to say, pretty impressed!!
